Who we are

Nomadsurance is an AI-powered insurance information and matching platform built for digital nomads, long-term travelers, and remote workers. Instead of pushing you through a generic comparison funnel, we ask you a few honest questions — where you're going, how long you'll stay, what you actually do for work — and surface insurance options that fit your real life on the road.

The platform was founded by Lukas Schönberg, who spent years living between countries and watching friends in the nomad community get either over-sold expat policies they didn't need or under-sold travel cover that fell apart the moment something serious happened. Nomadsurance exists to close that gap with clear information, useful matching, and zero pressure.

We are based in Estonia and operate fully online across the EU and globally.

Our role: information and matching

We want to be precise about what Nomadsurance does, because the insurance world is full of vague language and we'd rather not add to it.

Nomadsurance is an information and matching platform. We help you understand the categories of cover that exist (travel medical, long-term nomad insurance, expat health, gear, liability, trip interruption), explain the differences in plain language, and connect you with insurance providers and partners whose products fit your situation.

We are not a traditional brick-and-mortar agency, and the brand-facing experience is not designed as one. When you find a policy you want, you complete the purchase directly with the insurance provider or one of our licensed partners — they handle underwriting, the policy contract, claims, and the regulated parts of the relationship.

If you need formal advice on a specific contract under the laws of your home country, please speak with a licensed insurance professional in that jurisdiction. We're happy to be a starting point, not a substitute.

How we're paid

We believe you have a right to know exactly how a company makes money before you trust it with a decision this important. So here it is, in one paragraph:

The Nomadsurance platform is free for you to use. We do not charge you a fee, a markup, a "service charge," or a hidden cost on top of the policy price. When you purchase a policy through one of our partners, the partner pays us a commission out of their own margin. The price you pay is the same price you'd pay if you went directly to the carrier. Our commission does not influence which policies we show you — our matching logic is based on fit, coverage quality, and what nomads actually need, not on which partner pays the most.

If a partner ever asked us to prioritize their product against the interest of the user, we'd decline. That's the entire reason this platform exists.

Liability for content

We take care to keep the information on nomadsurance.com accurate, up to date, and useful. That said, insurance products, prices, country requirements, and visa rules change constantly, and the content on this site is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not a binding offer, individual advice, or a substitute for the actual policy documents issued by an insurance provider.

The terms, conditions, exclusions, and coverage limits of any insurance policy are governed exclusively by the policy documents you receive from the insurer at the time of purchase. Please read them carefully before you buy.

Where Nomadsurance links to external websites, we have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it. External links are provided for convenience only.

Online dispute resolution

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for resolving disputes between consumers and online businesses based in the EU. You can access it here:

https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

We are not obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, and as a general rule we do not. We prefer to resolve any issue directly and quickly — please email us first at {{ENTITY_EMAIL}} and we'll do our best to make it right.

Press and partnerships

If you're a journalist, researcher, or writer working on a story about digital nomads, remote work, travel insurance, or the long-term traveler economy — we're happy to talk and share what we know.

If you operate an insurance product, assistance company, or service that is genuinely useful for nomads and you'd like to explore a partnership, we're open to conversations. We are selective: fit and product quality matter more to us than reach.

Either way, the address is:

A short note about who you are and what you're working on goes a long way.

Getting in touch

For anything else — questions about the platform, feedback, a policy you've seen and want a second opinion on, or just to say hello from wherever you currently are — write to us at {{ENTITY_EMAIL}}. A real person reads every message.
