Some of South Korea’s long-stay routes are open only to citizens of specific countries. Here’s where a Singapore passport stands:
H-1 Working Holiday Visa
Not open to Singapore passport holders
Open only to citizens of countries/regions that have a bilateral working-holiday MOU with South Korea (Overseas Koreans Agency / mofa.go.kr lists ~29-30 partners). General age range 18-30, but several partners differ: Canada and UK 18-35; Finland and Luxembourg 18-35; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Portugal, Taiwan 18-34; Japan 18-25. Annual quotas vary widely by nationality (e.g. Canada 12,000; Japan 10,000; UK 5,000; New Zealand 3,000; France & USA 2,000; Hong Kong & Spain 1,000; Australia/Denmark/Germany/Sweden unlimited). Visa-free isn’t insurance-free
Whatever route you take into South Korea, your entry stamp never includes health cover. Many longer-stay visas also require proof of insurance before they’re granted. That part is on you, and it’s what we actually do.
