Routes that depend on your nationality

Some of Czechia’s long-stay routes are open only to citizens of specific countries. Here’s where a United Arab Emirates passport stands:

  • Working Holiday Visa (long-term visa for stay over 90 days)

Not open to United Arab Emirates passport holders

Open only to citizens of countries with a bilateral working-holiday agreement with Czechia. Age 18-30 for Chile, Peru, Israel, Japan and South Korea; age 18-35 for Canada and New Zealand. Stay up to 1 year, generally non-repeatable; employment must be a secondary purpose of the stay. Annual quotas by nationality (approx.): Chile 200, Peru 100, Israel 200, Japan unlimited (no consular fee), South Korea 300, Canada ~1,150, New Zealand 1,200, Taiwan 100. Australia was also a partner but the bilateral programme is SUSPENDED from 1 March 2026, so Australian citizens are excluded as of June 2026. Visa-free isn’t insurance-free

Whatever route you take into Czechia, your entry stamp never includes health cover. Many longer-stay visas also require proof of insurance before they’re granted. That part is on you, and it’s what we actually do.
