Rules described are for non-exempt foreign nationals (e.g. EU/UK/Canadian/Australian/Asian citizens); ECOWAS members and a few others (Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia, Chad, UAE, etc.) are visa-exempt, while US and Syrian nationals are currently refused entry/transit.

    Apply in advance at a Malian embassy/consulate (no visa on arrival for most nationalities); valid passport, photos, itinerary and yellow fever vaccination certificate. Approx fees ~$80 single / ~$110 multi 3-month / ~$200 6-month; US citizens a flat ~$185 (verify).

    Embassy application with a business cover/invitation letter, company registration/tax documents, passport, photos and yellow fever certificate.

    Insurance
    Recommendeda medical/health certificate may be requested for certain roles; private health insurance strongly advised. No specific insurance statute confirmed - verify with employer/DGIE.
    Good for
    Foreign nationals employed by a Mali-registered company.
    Requirement
    Enter on a long-stay visa, then employer-sponsored application via the Direction Générale de l'Immigration et des Étrangers (DGIE): valid employment contract with a registered Malian company, plus Ministry of Labour authorization; a medical certificate may be required for some roles.
