Routes that depend on your nationality
Some of United Kingdom’s long-stay routes are open only to citizens of specific countries. Here’s where a Poland passport stands:
Youth Mobility Scheme visa
Not open to Poland passport holders
Bilateral scheme; aged 18-35 for Australia (AU), Canada (CA), New Zealand (NZ), South Korea (KR), and aged 18-30 for Andorra (AD), Iceland (IS), Japan (JP), Monaco (MC), San Marino (SM), Uruguay (UY). Hong Kong (HK, BNO/SAR passport) and Taiwan (TW) nationals are aged 18-30 and must first be selected in a ballot. Requires ~GBP 2,530 in savings held 28 days; 2-year stay (extendable for AU/CA/NZ). Certain British nationality types (British overseas citizen, British overseas territories citizen, British national (overseas)) also qualify but are not passport-country-restricted in the same way. List verified against the gov.uk eligibility page (June 2026).
India Young Professionals Scheme visa
Not open to Poland passport holders
Indian citizens only, aged 18-30. Ballot-based, capped at 3,000 places/year (Feb and July 2026 ballots). Requires a bachelor's degree (RQF Level 6) or equivalent. Selection in the ballot grants the right to apply; 24-month stay. Separate route created under the 2022 UK-India migration agreement, branded alongside the Youth Mobility Scheme.
UK Ancestry visa
Not open to Poland passport holders
Open to Commonwealth citizens (plus British overseas citizens, British overseas territories citizens, British nationals (overseas), and citizens of Zimbabwe) who are 17+, plan to work, and can prove a grandparent was born in the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or pre-1922 Ireland. Initial 5-year stay leading to settlement. eligiblePassports lists the 55 non-UK Commonwealth member states (verified June 2026); Zimbabwe (ZW) is included separately by gov.uk. The grandparent-birthplace condition, not nationality alone, is the binding requirement.
Visa-free isn’t insurance-free
Whatever route you take into United Kingdom, your entry stamp never includes health cover. Many longer-stay visas also require proof of insurance before they’re granted. That part is on you — and it’s what we actually do.

Visa rules can change at short notice and depend on your purpose of travel, length of stay and onward tickets. Always confirm with the destination’s embassy or the IATA Travel Centre before you book. Visa-free entry never includes travel health insurance. That’s still on you.
