D visa issued for up to 90 days (multiple entry); used to obtain a Temporary Residence Permit valid for the work-permit period

- Requiredmedical insurance (min ~EUR 30,000, valid 90+ days) for the D visa, plus proof of health insurance for the residence permit

- Foreigners hired by a Ukrainian employer who hold a work permit

- Employer-obtained work permit from the State Employment Service, then D-visa application at a consulate; apply for a Temporary Residence Permit within the visa validity

Student (Type D) visa
D visa up to 90 days, then a Temporary Residence Permit covering the study period

- Foreigners enrolled at a Ukrainian university or educational institution for stays over 90 days
