Visa types & longer-stay routes for Cambodia
Rules are written for general foreign (non-Khmer) nationals. Most non-ASEAN passport holders need a visa (e-Visa, visa on arrival, or embassy), while citizens of ASEAN member states get visa-free short stays of 7-30 days depending on nationality, and people of Khmer descent use the separate K-class visa.
- Most nomadsTourist
Tourist Visa (Type T)
30 days, single entry; extension options are very limited - travellers wanting a longer stay use the Ordinary (E) visa instead.
- Insurance
- Recommendednot required - Cambodia does not mandate travel or medical cover for entry, but private cover is advised as medical facilities outside Phnom Penh are limited.
- Good for
- Leisure travellers and short visits; available as e-Visa (evisa.gov.kh), visa on arrival, or at an embassy.
- Requirement
- Passport valid 6+ months with 1 blank page, passport photo, ~USD 30 government fee (often ~USD 36 incl. processing via the official portal); separate free e-Arrival card required for air arrivals (submit within 7 days before arrival).

Visa-free isn’t insurance-free
Whatever route you take into Cambodia, your entry stamp never includes health cover. Many longer-stay visas also require proof of insurance before they’re granted. That part is on you — and it’s what we actually do.
