    Typically initially single-entry, valid ~3 months / up to 90 days stay, extendable via a work permit. Verify.

    Good for
    Foreign nationals taking up employment with a registered Afghan company, organisation or government contractor.
    Requirement
    Afghan employer sponsor/introduction letter on letterhead routed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul, plus a work permit from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA); applicants generally must be under retirement age (~65) and supply educational documents, employment contract, medical exam results and a police clearance.

    Foreign investors and certain officials; a long-stay/residence route exists chiefly via work-permit renewal rather than a dedicated retirement or digital-nomad visa.
    Requirement
    Since Dec 2022 an 'Afghanistan Investment Desk' at Kabul International Airport has facilitated visas on arrival for foreign investors; longer residence is generally maintained through a registered business and renewed work permit. No general retirement or remote-work/digital-nomad visa is offered.
